I love reading. I’ve loved the idea of escaping to fantastical worlds or to step into the shoes of famous people, via their autobiographies, since I was 9. I may sound pompous—or high-shot as we say in Fiji—but I wish that everyone had the same love, which is why I love this next guest and his mission in life!
The Reading Warrior is the brain child of Mangere man, David Riley, whose back story makes this tale even more worthy of sharing. As we dive into what the Reading Warrior is, as well as other incredible projects that David has spearheaded, I hope that it can be a testimony of resilience and the need for representation. From warehouses to collaborations with big names like Israel Adesanya and Sevens superstar Michaela Blyde, our brahs (slang for brother in Fiji) has been through it all.
I thoroughly enjoyed my talanoa session with this incredibly passionate reading warrior and I hope you’ll find this episode informative, fun, and thought-provoking!
